Thomas Morley  

(1557 ó 1558 - 1602)

Morley contribuyó perceptiblemente al desarrollo del madrigal inglés, imitado de modelos italianos. Él era probablemente una pupila de Guillermo Byrd, a quien él dedicó su libro popular una introducción de Plaine y de Easie a Practicall Musicke, publicada en 1597. Morley fue empleado en St. Paul en Londres y sintió bien a un caballero de la capilla real en 1592, publicando su primer sistema de parte-canciones en 1593. Él fue referido más adelante en la música de impresión y que publicaba, para la cual le concedieron una parte en el monopolio en 1598.
