Three Down presents an
enviable situation; the incredibly vivid
capture of a collection of four bottles
of wine invites you to join in on the "one
to go." Arvid portrays a depth of story
and artistry through a life lived in the
details. The jagged foil and hastily
replaced cork reveal a specific moment,
while the composition traces a larger
span of time by showing the same wine as
its label has changed over the years.
In his own words, Thomas Arvid depicts "the
landscape between people drinking wine
together." The elements of this
landscape-- table, cork, glasses and
bottles-- are the essentials of gracious
living. With his eye for detail and
beauty, Arvid reshapes our perception of
fleeting moments that are our everyday
lives. |
