Merv
Brandel nació en 1948 en Kelowna,Canadá, donde creció
con la idea de convertirse en un artista.

Merv
Brandel was born in 1948 in Kelowna where he
grew up with the notion of becoming an artist.
After graduating from the Alberta College of Art
in 1973, he worked as a commercial illustrator
for eleven years. He owned and operated his own
commercial art business, specializing in
illustrations drawn for architects.
In 1984 Merv started to paint full time, his
precision in the commercial arts showing through
in his startlingly realistic paintings.
Many of his works are scenes from the Okanagan
landscape where he grew up, painted in thephoto-realism
style that he is renowned for.
Merv now lives in Qualicum Beach with his family
and spends his days painting.

strong point being that ability to capture the
transience and the effect of light on the
natural world.
He has had many one man shows at galleries in
British Columbia and Alberta and his pieces are
readily collected by buyers from all over the
world.He has moved to the coast and his
repertoire now includes seascapes as well as dry
land pieces.
In the past few years Merv and his wife have
switched studios with artists in England and the
East coast of Canada to get a different view of
the world.This oppoortunity has given them a
chance to travel and for Merv to paint new
material.
