Eugene de Blaas, también conocido como Eugene von Blaas o Eugenio de Blaas (24 de julio de 1843 - 1932) fue un pintor italiano en la escuela conocida como clasicismo académico. Él nació en Albano, cerca de Roma, a los padres de Austria. Su padre Karl, también pintor, fue su maestro. La familia se trasladó a Venecia cuando Karl se convirtió en profesor en la Academia de Venecia. A menudo las escenas pintadas en Venecia. Se convirtió en profesor en la Academia de Venecia.

Born in 1843 in Rome to Austrian parents, Eugene de Blaas was the son and student of the painter Karl von Blaas (1815-1894), who was a teacher at the Academy of Rome and at the Academy of Venice.

Venice had been a central attraction, particularly for artists, since the early eighteenth century. It was in Venice that de Blaas excelled and established himself as a leading oil painter of Venetian genre and figures.

He depicted scenes which were characteristic of Venice, such as the local fishermen, beautiful women, and gondoliers surrounded by the marvelous architecture. He portrayed the charm and elegance of Venice by focusing on skin, hair, embroidered lace and other soft textures.

De Blaas exhibited his work throughout Europe, including at The Royal Academy between 1875 and 1891. His work continues to be in popular demand throughout the world. Eugene de Blaas died in 1932.

 

Eugene Von Blass specialized in figure paintings. His favorite motif was the daily life of the Venetian fisherfolk. He rendered the details of their picturesque costumes and dwellings with tremendous symathy. His precise technique and vibrant colors were greatly admired. The artist was the son and student of Karl Von Blass (1815-1894), a leading Austrian history and fresco painter of the late Biedermeier period. Karl had studied at the Academies of Rome and Venice, then both cities within the Austrian Empire, where he was later to become a professor. Karl had another son, Julius, who was also a painter of animal and military subjects. Eugene Von Blass had an international exhibiting career. Von Blass was a regular exhibitor to the Esposizione Nationale exhibitions in Venice and the Jubilaums Austellungs held in Vienna and Munich. He also showed his paintings at the Royal Academy, the Grafton Gallery and the New Gallery in London between 1875 and 1892. His parents were Austrian, and father Karl von Blaas was a well known historical painter. Von Blass was an early student of his father. He then went on to study at the Academy of Rome and the Academy of Venice, choosing to paint picturesque aspects of the lives of fishermen in Venice. These works often concentrated on images of female beauty, capturing the marvelous facial line and skin tone of the model. Von Blaas painted in both oil and watercolor, using both mediums with great skill. He exhibited from 1875 to 1892 at the Grafton Gallery at the Royal Academy and at The New Gallery in London. Von Blaas died in Vienna in 1931. Eugenio Von Blass se especializó en la figura humana. Sus motivos favoritos fueron la vida cotidiana de los  pescadores venecianos.

Él dictó los detalles de sus trajes pintorescos y las viviendas con enormes. Su técnica precisa y colores vibrantes se fueron muy admirados.

 El artista era hijo y alumno de Karl Von Blass (1815-1894), líder en la historia de Austria y fresco pintor de fines del período Biedermeier.

Karl había estudiado en las Academias de Roma y Venecia, ambas ciudades en el Imperio de Austria, donde fue más tarde a convertirse en un profesor.

Karl tuvo otro hijo, Julius, que también fue un pintor de animales y temas militares. Eugenio Von Blass tenía una carrera internacional.  Von Blass fue un expositor para la Esposizione Nationale exposiciones en Venecia y la Jubilaums Austellungs celebrada en Viena y Munich.

Eugene de Blaas  pintaba preferentemente personas, no era un pintor paisajista aunque tenía la técnica de sobra como para pintar quizás como un William Turner. Las modelos que elegía sin duda eran muy hermosas, mujeres hermosas y macizas con un aire quizás de infantil en sus pies ( pies medios gorditos ) que dan una frescura a su trabajo. También siendo un pintor academicista usaba colores muy claros , alegres y muchas de sus pinturas son de mujeres encantadoras que siempre están llevando alguna carga.
